Autism affects Canadians of all ages. According to a 2019 survey by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC), about 1 in 50 children and youth (ages 1–17) are diagnosed with ASD, representing roughly 2% of Canadian children. More recent research from 2025 estimates that approximately 1.8% of Canadian adults may also be on the spectrum.
